In July, Rep. Bill Young (R-FL) had a very rude reply to a constituent who asked him about raising the minimum wage. “Get a job,” Young told him.
Now, facing the fallout from these remarks, Young is simply just skipping meetings with constituents. There was a candidates forum held recently that actually took place in the very same building that his district office is in, yet he failed to show up. The Florida Consumer Action Network (FCAN) interviewed some of Young’s constituents about his no-show status. Here’s one constituent:
TERRIE WEEKS, CONSTITUENT: We’ve tried to get meetings with Bill Young for years and years. Friends of mine, other citizens have wanted to meet with Representative Young to discuss other issues that are of concern to them. It’s impossible to do.

Employment is enormously hard to get these days, even with college degrees. Furthermore, people who have jobs are often working for wages that are “pitiful” when compared with their parents’ incomes. The minimum wage needs to be raised to at least $10,00 an hour to help people recover from this bank-instituted, corporate-benefitting recession.
Where do you think the extra money will come from to support this raise in the minimum wage. Small business owners are having a hard time keeping their doors open to begin with, this notion of minimum wage increase is a job killer. Good thing Obama signed an amnesty for 800,000 illegals so they can effectively take more lower wage jobs driving down the wages for citizens and cheating the Government out of lost income on these jobs.
Small business is struggling because people don’t make enough money to buy anything.

The Mexicans need to get the hell out! I urge everyone to call INS about the illegals working in Chicago. I have called many times and have been successful in the deportation of 12. Mexicans only increase the ghetto population and crime rates soar. Adios amigos!!!
The real question is how does this low life keep getting elected? All those immigrants that you say are taking jobs is just a line from the right wing because what jobs are they taking? Selling fruit on the highway? Cleaning toilets? Washing dishes in a dive?
Michael, Your bigotry is evident, it says alot about you when you think these human beings have no other skills or education that might afford them as something other than the dishwasher or toilet cleaner. Liberal Hypocrisy at its finest.

I side with Michael. Because they have no skills these Mexicans steal and engage in other criminal activity. If an European was here in the USA illegally the INS would deport him immediately. Why should Mexicans be any different. At least the Europeans are educated and have some shred of decency.
