In a rally organized by CREDO Action, hundreds of Americans today converged outside the Washington, D.C. headquarters of the National Rifle Association, the top gun lobby in the country.
Here are a few pictures from the action, taken by attendees:
You can follow live updates on the protest by browsing the hashtag #StandDownNRA on Twitter. But you can also help make sure the momentum from today’s protest continues by pledging to take action for common sense reforms.
The problem I have with the Boldprogressive’s on this issue is not telling the whole story of violence in the world. An email came to me just a few moments ago and had this top quote “Hours before 20 children were tragically killed in Connecticut, a man attacked 22 school children in China. None of those kids died — the attacker only had a knife.”
The real issue with this is the fact that there are epidemics in Japan, Korea, Azerbaijan and parts of India with Knife killings. The worst coming from Japan. So, as one who subscribes to much of the movement, I ask, why skew the truth? Only in honesty can we truly move forward in anything.
There’s also the fact that the worst killings in America never used guns – The Bath Massacre was done with pipe bombs, and then we have the Oklahoma City Bombings and the UniBomber. None of these were gun related incidents.
Stop defending guns and death and defend people and life!!!!
Guns & Repeal:
mjbarkl.com/repeal.htm
The stages of repeal:
1) We can’t do it.
2) We can’t do it, can we?
3) Maybe we can do it.
4) We can do it!
5) We must do it!
6) Do it!
7) We’re doing it!
8) We did it!
We’re stuck on #1. Anybody for #2? –mike
I may be a little dense, but why is the fact that 22 children were stabbed with a knife in China and none are dead not relevant to this gun issue. We cannot stop all deranged people in this country or the world from doing dastardly things, but we can stop making mass murder as easy as assault weapons and multiple ammo clips make it.
Why blame the gun? I can’t possibly agree with those who do because it is gun control that is the gateway to genocide. Is this what you want? Go to jpfo.org and find the genocide chart. Find out that all of our gun control laws are a direct translation from Hitler’s Nazi Weapon’s Manual. If people do not want more children to be slaughtered they will allow the adults to carry weapons. The problem will probably never present itself in those schools that do. You will never get rid of all the guns in this country. Why take them from those who will not hurt anyone and allow them to be in the hands of criminals? Who will be left to defend the children? none
I find it appalling that the four people who have commented thus far are defending having a gun and the one who is more worried about other countries then her own country!!
Back a week ago when the sports caster brought up the subject about gun control you people vilified him for even bringing it up!..Then there were the ones who justified and equated Guns with Cars. Saying that cars kill more. Well, there is a big difference between the car and the gun. Its call Liability Ins. Most cars in this country carry Liability Ins. Guns don’t! So, I say, why not make Gun Owners carry Liability Ins. As far as illegal guns are concerned, make the NRA carry Liability Ins. After all there are consequences to promoting guns and Hospital and Funeral homes need to be paid. Why should the victims family have to carry that burden of paying!!
Yes, regulate guns like they do cars. Make it so they have to take classes and physiological testing. Get rid of the Assault Weapons and Automatic Weapons. You don’t need them for hunting and any responsible hunter will tell you that!!! I’ve had several over the last few days tell me that. They are only good for the Military/killing people.
Modify the 2nd Amendment. The amendment only says that you can own a gun. It is very vague. It doesn’t say what kind of gun you can own only that you can own one. Modify it! We don’t live in the 1700’s anymore.
Oh and I do have a right under the constitution to own a car. There may not be a specific amendment for it. But, it does come under my rights as a citizen of the country. Read your history, when cars were invented you did not need a license, registration and ins. to have and drive one and they were also standard shift at the time.
” As far as illegal guns are concerned, make the NRA carry Liability Ins.”
Why? The NRA doesn’t manufacture or sell firearms. The NRA was founded on (1st) promoting gun safety through education (2nd) promoting marksmanship. It later developed into the oldest civil rights organization in the US – changing racist laws preventing, or restricting, firearms ownership by black citizens. If you are concerned about illegal guns – you only need to look as far as Eric Holder under the Obama administration; thousands of Mexicans blood is on their hands was well as US Border Patrol Agents.
“Get rid of the Assault Weapons and Automatic Weapons.”
Automatic firearms (as well as short barreled rifles, suppressors, and AOWs) have been severely restricted under the NFA of 1934. As a private individual, you must first , pay a non-refundable, non-transferable, $200 fee, pass a federal background check, and submit your premises to a warrant-less search at anytime. Then you can own a automatic firearm as long it was registered with the ATF before 19 May 1986 – and then expect to pay $15k and up for the actual firearm.
When an NFL player killed his colleague in an automobile – Costas didn’t deliver a message about the “car culture” being to blame.
The 2nd Amendment isn’t about hunting, any more that the 1st Amendment isn’t about writing about raising flowers.

Numerous ways this type of horror can be carried out.
Not yet, but it’ll happen, Google “Beslan massacre”. America will have it’s Beslan. No amount of hugs, kisses, money, or diversity training is going to stop those kind hearted Muslim extremists from it. We need to have more armed security in our schools.
Anyone that believes an “assault weapon” ban is going to prevent this happening again is living in serious denial. But by gosh it’ll feel good!
